Frequently Asked Questions

Q?Are your caregivers screened?
A.Yes. After the personal interview, we do a thorough state and federal background check through DOJ. We require U.S. citizenship which is confirmed by E-Verify. We also require a valid driver license with proof of auto insurance and run a check through DMV.
Q?Why not hire a caregiver on my own?
A.When you hire a caregiver, you become the employer thereby assuming the responsibilities of payroll and all potential liabilities.  And what happens if your caregiver gets sick or can’t make it? You can have peace of mind knowing that ABC covers all these concerns.  For more information on this, read our blog.
Q?What takes place at the in-home assessment?
A.This no cost, no obligation consultation serves two purposes: to introduce ourselves to you and to assess the needs and environment of the person who needs care. Ultimately this information helps us develop a plan of care along and provide the right caregiver chosen just for you.
Q?Where is your service area?
A.ABC provides caregivers to clients in the SW Riverside County Inland Empire area including Lake Elsinore, Sun City, Temecula, and Fallbrook. Our office is centrally located in Wildomar.
Q?Is a service contract required?
A.No. You decide how often and for how long you wish home care- from an hour a day to 24 hours a day, from a week to a month or for years. We understand that as your plans and finances change, the schedule may adjust up or down. As a courtesy to our caregivers, we simply ask for 24 hour notice when possible.
Q?Is there a minimum number of hours required per visit?
A.Yes. We require a three hour minimum. The exception is when a one hour service is requested. This is usually requested when someone needs help with bathing. This service is for clients in our local area only.
Q?What if my caregiver isn’t the right fit?
A.Initially, we will introduce our caregiver to you. If you don’t think our caregiver will be a match or in time doesn’t seem to be the right fit, simply call our office and we’ll provide a caregiver that better matches your needs and desires.
Q?Are your caregivers bonded?
A.Yes. ABC also provides what is considered necessary for home care service: general liability insurance and workers’ compensation. We consider it important to provide you with a level of security and peace of mind. At the same time, we do the same for our caregivers.
Q?Do you take insurance?
A.No. ABC is a private pay or out-of-pocket agency.  Medicare does not provide assistance with non-medical services.
